on Aug 27th 2000, 08:58:36, sara the mac wrote the following about

bed

as a verb "to bed' usually means to take someone to bed, i.e. for sex. wenches seemed to be bedded quite frequently back in arthurian times and such, if you can believe what you read.

the most interesting and unusual usage of the verb »bed« i ever encountered was in annie dillard's >>the writing life<<, where she described words as bedding in muscle. i'd have expected »embed,« but i kind of like it her way now that i think of it.
