Perception

The fact that we perceive something to be true does not make it true.

For example, we perceive that the stars revolve around the earth.

Or that the ocean ends on the horizon.

Or that magician saws a woman in half.

So perception can be an illusion.

On the other hand, as Mark Twain noted, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck – it's a duck.

I perceive that I am among some kindred spirits – but what is their perception of me?

Everybody has its own perception of what we call »world«!

Reality is perception letting itself be known to us.

All reality is theory. The best theory is knowledge. Knowledge is derived from observation and wild imagination.

There is no reality without imagination.

Reality is perception letting itself be known to us by imagination.

i need a better perspective on perception – or could you tell me the difference?

perception is when you realize or notice things, or things about things, that are not obvious.
