»Buckaroo« was the early anglo cowboys best attempt to pronounce the Spanish word »Vaquero« meaning »Horseman« in Spanish.
I met the Buckaroo Poet Jeff Streeby once at a Cowboy Gathering. His poem »The End of Travis Good« grasp my heart and made me fall in love with the Cowboy Poetry form. I also met Cowgirl Buckaroo Poet Debra Coppinger Hill. She recited »Old Yellow Slicker« and »Buffalo Grass« and kept the room spellbound.
Cowboy Poet Debra Coppinger Hill is the ranch manager of the 4DH Horse Ranch and a real buckaroo.
