Scary things are good. Just barely making it out of a scary situation can be like waking up from a nightmare--it can leave you with a feeling of joy you can only get from the unique combination of the adrenaline your body pumps to help you avoid death or dismemberment with the relief you feel that you've come out of the situation unscathed.

Scary things are bad. They can kill you or make you wish you were dead.
