Penalty seems to be one of those terms which are constantly mispronounced by Germans who do not understand that the main stress is on the first syllable. They usually stress the second syllable and say pen-nulltie.
A penalty- is it a deterrant, a punishment, or a game? Are you a player in the game or a piece? Is the power part of the punishment, or part of the game? Is the game part of the power? And is it, like anything else, sexual?
