Part of the glory of chat (and not just chat-ups) is that, if handled aright, it can so easily pass into deeper conversation. But for that to happen, you need to have the chatting partner there in front of you to see the eyes, the mouth, the smile, the frown, the body language...Even the most well-run, inter-active blaster in the world can never give us that, it seems to me. Oder? as they say, over on the German line!
