All of the Koran's 114 chapters except one begins with the phrase »Allah is merciful and compassionate«.
A Muslim is expected to recognize the brotherhood of man and should treat a non-Muslim as a brother. Showing compassion and charity, Muslims believe, is doing service to God. Therefore, it is written in the Koran »No man is a true believer unless he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself. God will not be affectionate to that man who is not affectionate to God's creatures. Assist any person oppressed whether he is Muslim or non-Muslim.«
Mohammed repeatedly forbade cruelty to animals, saying in the Hadith popular tradition, »Whoever is kind to the creatures of God is kind to himself.«

OsamaBinLaden has been called America's most wanted terrorist suspect. The U.S. State Department said OsamaBinLaden is »one of the most significant financial sponsors of Islamic extremist activities in the world.«
He is said to be the head of a worldwide network of terrorist camps that support Jihad or IslamicHolyWar against secular governments of the Muslim Middle East and Western powers. In 1998, OsamaBinLaden called on Muslims to kill Americans wherever they can be found.
Jihad uses centuries old interpretations of the Koran to justify violence in the name of God. Muslim scholars brought out the Koran's interpretations during the 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Religious rulings were issued called fatwas. The fatwas exhorted Muslims everywhere to defend Islamic land from infidels.

The beautiful religion of Islam has always viewed animals as a special part of God's creation. Both the Qur'an and the Hadith offer many examples of kindness, mercy, and compassion for animals.
Thanks to Westernized factory farming methods that are used in many parts of the world, animals suffer hideously in the industries that kill them to produce meat, milk, and eggs. These products not only bring pain and suffering to the animals themselves, but they are also implicated in a variety of human diseases, including cancer, heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes. The intensive production of animals for food is also extremely damaging to the Earth and the environment.
